The book

Wake Up Call: You Can Leave When You Want is a book about the parts of ourselves we inherit before we're old enough to question them.

Our ideas about love, money, faith, work, sex, success, family, relationships, and even who we believe we're supposed to become rarely begin with us.

They are absorbed through parents, teachers, culture, experience, pain, expectation, and the people we surround ourselves with.

Some of those lessons serve us for a lifetime.
Others quietly become patterns we mistake for personality.

Drawing from decades of observing people—and eventually turning that same attention inward—Raffie examines communication, faith, education, business, hospitality, relationships, modern dating, health, discipline, and action.

What appear to be separate subjects gradually reveal themselves as different expressions of the same question:

How much of the person you call “you” did you actually choose?

Wake Up Call isn't about rejecting your past or becoming someone entirely new. It's about becoming aware enough to recognize what belongs to you, what you've outgrown, and what you're finally ready to leave behind.

Because once you can see the pattern, you have something you didn't have before.

A choice.

From Wake Up Call

For years I believed my life consisted of unrelated problems.

Bad relationships.

Career frustration.

Anxiety.

Lack of direction.

The deeper I looked, the more obvious the truth became.

It was never a collection of problems.

It was one pattern…

expressing itself in different places.

Once I understood the pattern, the individual problems finally started making sense.

Maybe that's all wisdom really is.

Not collecting more answers.

Recognizing more connections.

Seeing the thread that was always there.

The conversation you avoid.

The boundary you never set.

The belief you never questioned.

The fear you keep obeying.

The identity you keep defending.

They're rarely isolated.

They're usually the same lesson…

wearing different clothes.

Awareness won't solve every problem you have.

It won't erase your past.

It won't prevent pain.

It won't make difficult decisions disappear.

What it gives you is something much more valuable.

Choice.

The ability to pause before repeating the version of yourself you've already outgrown.

The ability to recognize an old pattern before calling it your personality.

The ability to ask one simple question before every decision:

“Is this truly mine…
or did I inherit it?”
